HISTORY
Founded in 1952 and incorporated in 1957, Owego Heat Treat was the second of three successful heat treat shops started by William E. Engelhard. Mr. Engelhard's reputation for high quality and attention to detail continued to grow with Owego Heat Treat. By specializing in distortion-free bright hardening, hydrogen annealing and zero white layer nitriding, the Company's customer base grew quickly. The ability to perform heat treat processes in accordance wtih demanding specification requirements led to business relationships with the likes of Pratt & Whitney, TRW, Moog, General Electric and Hamilton Sundstrand – to name just a few. In addition, our reputation for taking on the difficult parts or processes which others shy away from carries through to the present. Remember our company motto: "We Take On The Tough Ones!"
Today, Company management carries on in the tradition of Mr. Engelhard, and our commitment to quality heat treating has never been stronger. From the "Mom 'n Pop" machine shop to the high volume stamping house, from the local fabrication shop to the Aerospace prime, our pledge is to provide all customers with the highest standards in value-added processing.
