PROCESSES

Listed below are some of the heat treat processes available at our plant along with partial listings of some of the alloys normally processed under each type of operation

  1. Nitriding; including Floe Process: Nitralloy, 400 series stainless, 300 series stainless, 4130, 8620, O-1, D-2, A-2,
    H-13, Highspeed tool steels, cast stainless alloys.

  2. Bright Hydrogen Annealing: 300 series stainless, 400 series stainless, MuMetal alloys, Permalloy, Invar, Relay & Transformer steel alloys, Magnetic alloys, Brasses, Silver alloys, Remco, Si-Irons, Ni-Irons. 

  3. Bright Hardening: 400 series stainless, High-speed steels,  and Air-hardening tool steels, Ferro-tic alloys, Medical parts.

  4. Silver, Copper and Nicro Brazing: 400 series stainless, 300 series stainless, locarbon steels, carbides, tool steels, copper alloys, silver alloys.

  5. Bright Precipitation Hardening and Stress Relieving: 17-7 PH, 17-4 PH, 18-8 PH, etc., Berrylium-Copper alloys, Inconel Alloys, Titanium alloys.

  6. Oil hardening with Minimal Distortion and NO Decarb: All oil hardening tool steels and engineering alloys, and Ferro-Tic alloys.

  7. Wet Hydrogen Firing: Kovar, Rodar and other glass-sealing alloys, and 300 series stainless.

  8. Powdered-metal Sintering: Noble metals, Ferrous Alloys, Stainless Steels. Up to 2250° available.

  9. Sub-zero Cold Stabilization: 400 series stainless, tool steels, Aluminum alloys. As low as -120° F.

  10. Cryogenic Treatments: Tool Steels, 400 series stainless, as low as -300°F.

  11. Aluminum Heat Treating: All cast and wrought heat treatable alloys. 

  12. Special Atmosphere Heat Treating: Call for details.


  13. Carburizing, FNC: Deep case or shallow case.

PHYSICAL PLANT
 
10,000 sq. ft. of production space, including 14 furnaces ranging from 10 x 14 through 42 x 85 and our own fabrication and welding shop.

450 sq. ft. of metallurgical laboratory space including modern metallographic and pyrometric equipment used to maintain our high quality standards.

1,600 sq. ft. of office space.

3,000 sq. ft. of fabrication and welding space.

Owego Heat Treat occupies a pleasant country tract of riverfront property on the Susquehanna River.
